Favorites of 2009 and the 00s

waitingjerry

In grand TRDMRK tradition, our last missive of the year is here to inform you of the music that caught our ears in the past 12 months. And since the decade is ending as well, we’re including a list of the albums that shaped these last ten years, too. Before we get to that, here is some label-related news which may interest you:

1.) Swarming Hordes pre-orders are dwindling – get yours today! I don’t anticipate many of these being left by the actual release date of winter 2010, so don’t say you weren’t warned.

2.) The Akasa free release is up until December 31. Grab it if you’re a cult member. Oh, don’t know the password? Sign up for the mailing list! Oh fuzz, fine, here it is in honor of Festivus: xlii2009 (don’t worry, cult members: this will change on the New Year to keep these freeloaders away).

3.) We released albums by The Abodox, Girth, the Motherless Children, and La Fin du Monde this year. Purchase as necessary and support independent artists carrying the torch of underground art.

With no further ado, our favorites of 2009, followed by the best of the entire 00s (in no particular order):
